A new 'Behind the Scenes' feature inside this weekend's matchday programme!

In Saturday’s edition of Bolton Wanderers’ matchday programme, we will be starting a brand new, regular feature called ‘Behind The Scenes’, which will bring you detailed information from members of staff from the various departments at the University of Bolton Stadium to showcase the work that goes on behind the scenes.

On sale prior to Wanderers’ home fixture against neighbours Wigan Athletic, The Wanderer will feature an update from Bolton Whites Hotel’s general manager Suzanne Speak.

Suzanne’s role is not the typical Hotel General Manager job description, as she oversees Bolton Whites Hotel, BWFC International Football programme and large events.

One of the world’s largest and most prestigious youth football tournaments, the IberCup World Final and Showcase, is coming to England for their very first time as they celebrate their ten-year anniversary.

And, here at Bolton Wanderers Football Club, we are delighted to be chosen as the venue for this premier global tournament.

To see what the Iber Cup is all about, see the video below:

From the 25th May the 28th May 2019, the University of Bolton Stadium, Bolton Whites Hotel and the Eddie Davies training ground at Lostock will play proud host as we accommodate youth teams from all over the world.

The group phases and play-offs will take place at the training ground, which will very much have a festival feel to it with food courts, fun zones, merchandising stores alongside the football pitches and medical and physio facilities.

It will be a spectacular occasion for all those participating with the World Final and the Showcase final taking place on the University of Bolton Stadium’s hallowed turf.

Not only is this a real coup for the venue, but also for the town of Bolton as well as we welcome

Our partners, the University of Bolton, will also play a significant role as students from their highly successful sports faculty will be involved during the tournament.

Just like the Beautiful Game, the tournament will consist of two halves - the IberCup World Final and the Showcase Tournament.

The IberCup World Final will bring together the best teams on the planet in what is the final stage of the world circuit of IberCup tournaments. This is the place where teams will face the winners from all the IberCup Qualifiers World Final and other great football academies from all over the World, such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico de Madrid, Sevilla FC, Manchester City FC, Arsenal FC, Manchester United FC, Liverpool FC, Paris St Germain, Olympique Lyonnais, Inter Milan, Juventus, Werder Bremen, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, FC Porto, Sporting CP, Gremio, Corinthians and Palmeiras,

Alongside the IberCup World Final, the Showcase Tournament offers the opportunity for grassroots and junior teams from the local area and beyond to participate in this exclusive event playing against some of the best teams in their category.

If you are involved with a grassroots team I would urge you to consider taking part in this global tournament which is occurring on your doorstep. It will offer an amazing and unique opportunity for the participants as well as providing them with a memorable experience that will last a lifetime. We have a special promotional offer running until January.

We are working with local community groups and grassroots clubs in terms of sourcing sponsorship which will help as many teams as possible to benefit from this occasion.
