Wanderers sports therapist conquers Three Peaks challenge for Alzheimer's Research UK

Wanderers' first team Sports Therapist Catherine Beattie recently undertook the Three Peaks Challenge in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Alzheimer's Research UK.

Catherine, who has been working at the club for the past three years and helps to look after the first team squad, scaled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon with six others on the weekend of Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 August.

Her father was sadly diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia a few years ago, with his situation leading Catherine to the decision to take on this huge challenge.

And she and the group did complete the climb, although unfortunately not to plan or schedule after they helped to rescue two men on Ben Nevis, thus setting them back by four hours, alongside a standstill on the M6 and a yellow weather warning for Snowdon.

Despite this however and in the midst of Storm Debby, they defied the odds and managed to complete Scafell Pike in two and-a-half hours and a very dark and foggy Snowdon in three hours.

Thanks to everyone's hard work and generosity, they have raised almost £2,000 but are still looking for people to donate.
