Report: Sheffield Wednesday U23s 2-4 Bolton Wanderers U23s

Goals from De'Marlio Brown-Sterling, Lamine Toure and a brace from Eddie Brown saw David Lee's U23s side defeat their Sheffield Wednesday counterparts 4-2 away from home.

With a very young team of just four first years scholars, four second years and three under-15s in the squad, Eddie Brown scored a great goal from distance after just 18 minutes.

Wanderers doubled their lead soon after, with DeMarlio Brown-Sterling scoring a great solo goal by running half the length of the pitch to extend their lead.

Following the half time break, a penalty got Wednesday back them back into the game after 55 minutes.

After this, Wednesday equalised through fantastic build-up play that saw Hunt level things up at Stocksbridge Park Steels.

However, the young Wanderers team showed great attitude to go on and create a great goal headed in by Lamine Toure, from a well delivered free-kick by trialist George Thomason.

Brown then scored another well-taken goal in the last few minutes to seal a well-deserved victory for the Whites.

Wanderers XI: Hutchinson, Whalley, Niakate, Richards, Osigwe, Riley, Assarsson, Thomason, Brown-Sterling, Brown, Colvin.

Subs: Tweedley, Conway, Toure.
