🗞️ Preview: Rotherham United vs. Bolton Wanderers

Wanderers head over to South Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon to take on Rotherham United in Sky Bet League One on New Year's Day.

The last time out in Sky Bet League One was a disappointing result for Ian Evatt's men, in the form of a 1-0 defeat against Accrington Stanley on the road.

Pre-match quotes:

Ian Evatt: “Saturday is probably the last time we’ll be going through some pain, I would say.

“We’ve got an important transfer window coming up and we’ve also got players, injury-wise, who are back to full fitness.

“The COVID scenario has put a bit of a spanner in the works but, other than that, things are looking up and positive.

“Once we get through this game and get a sustained period of training sessions back into the players - and their lungs start to recover - and the new recruits arrive, we’ll be in a much better place.”

Team news

Evatt will have the duo of Will Aimson and Amadou Bakayoko back at his disposal ahead of this weekend’s away clash.

The defender has recovered from a positive Covid-19 test, with “Baka” back in the fold after an ankle injury.

Skipper Ricardo Almeida Santos will also be back available after he served his one-match suspension following his sending off against Fleetwood Town.

Gethin Jones is back in training after fracturing his fibula earlier this season but is unlikely to feature this weekend due to covid.

Andrew Tutte is still unavailable with a hamstring injury.
