Anthony's A Winner!

Lifelong Wanderer Anthony Howells is the latest winner of the £2000 Lifeline prize.

Anthony moved to Nottingham many years ago but makes an effort whenever possible to make it to games to watch the Wanderers.

Anthony, along with his wife Denise, started supporting the Lifeline back in 1992 when he was introduced to the weekly fundraiser by Jimmy Goodinson - the man many will recognise as being behind the Roadrunner videos. The videos from the games were extremely popular in the ‘Happy Shop’ at Burnden Park, in most part due to the memorable commentary from the late, great Dave ‘ding, dong, do’ Higson.

Speaking about his win, Anthony said: “It was totally unexpected - a great surprise when I got the phone call on Friday. With my winnings, I'm going to treat my family and take my youngest grandson to his first ever match against Sheffield Wednesday.

“Being part of the Lifeline makes me feel more connected and supportive of my club when living out of area. The chance of winning the draw is an added bonus”.

Congratulations to Anthony! We hope you grandson follows in your footsteps to become a lifelong Wanderer himself.
