The B Team will kick off their campaign in the Central League at Fleetwood Town next week.
Matt Craddock’s squad will compete in the Central League and Central League Cup, as well as playing a series of regular friendlies throughout the season to provide a variety of opposition.
A trip to Fleetwood is first up to face Town’s Development Squad on Tuesday, 16 August (KO 1pm) at their Poolfoot Farm training ground.
Wanderers will play their home games at Lostock, with the first scheduled to be against Huddersfield Town ‘B’ on Wednesday, 7 September.
The B team has been introduced to aid player development and try and create a clearer pathway between the Wanderers’ Academy and first-team set-ups.
Midfielder Nelson Khumbeni and defender Lamine Tour have already had a taste of senior action after coming off the bench to make their debuts in Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup win over Salford City.
