Bolton Wanderers announced the signing of Will Buckley on a two-year deal in late June 2017.
The 28-year-old was last on the books of Sunderland having joined them in 2014, but spent time out on loan with Leeds United, Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday in recent seasons.
Born in Oldham meanwhile, Buckley started his career with Rochdale and after graduating from their youth ranks, he impressed for the Spotland outfit – enough to earn a move to then-Championship side Watford in 2010.
After one season at Vicarage Road however, he made the switch to Brighton & Hove Albion, going on to make over a century of appearances in three years on the south-coast, scoring 19 goals in the process.
His efforts caught the eye of Premier League Sunderland and in the summer of 2014, Buckley moved to the Stadium of Light.
From there, the midfielder went out on loan to Leeds United, Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday, before joining Bolton in 2017, where he signed a two-year deal.
Buckley has made over 50 appearances for the Trotters since arriving and was part of the squad that avoided relegation on the final day of the 2017/18 season.
