Bolton Wanderers sign Mark Little

Bolton Wanderers are delighted to announce the signing of Mark Little.

Predominantly a right back but also capable of playing in midfield, the defender puts pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at Macron Stadium having most recently been on the books of Bristol City.

The former England youth international started his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers, breaking into the Wolves first team during the 2006/07 season before later enjoying loan spells with Northampton Town, Chesterfield and Peterborough United.

Joining the latter permanently in May 2010, the 28-year-old helped the Posh win promotion to the Sky Bet Championship via the play-offs in his first full season at the ABAX Stadium while he was also a Football League Trophy winner with the club in 2014.

Signing for Bristol City in June 2014, he enjoyed immediate success at Ashton Gate as the Robins won both promotion as Sky Bet League One champions as well as the Football League Trophy with Little scoring against Walsall in the final at Wembley.

Boasting plenty of Sky Bet Championship experience, the defender now links up with Phil Parkinson’s men ahead of their return to the second tier following their promotion from Sky Bet League One last season.

Speaking to bwfc.co.uk after completing the move, Little said: “It feels amazing to be here. It has all happened quite quickly, but I’m thrilled to be on board.

“I’ve been speaking with the manager over the past week or so and I’m really impressed with what I’ve heard so far and I know we’ll have a great relationship when pre-season gets underway.

“I’m capable of playing either wing-back or right back and I’m known for running up and down the flanks, so hopefully I’ll be able to wear the Macron pitch out a little bit!

“I’ve had success in my career to date too, so if I can enjoy some during my time at Bolton Wanderers, then I’ll be very happy here.”

Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson added: "I am really pleased to welcome Mark to Bolton Wanderers. He has excellent experience in the Championship and I am really looking forward to working with him."
