Team news and fan information ahead of the Boxing Day visit of the Owls

Bolton Wanderers v Sheffield Wednesday
npower Championship
Wednesday 26 December, 2012
Kick-Off 3pm

Setting The Scene

With Wanderers having now faced all 23 of their Championship opponents on one occasion this season, the second half of campaign commences with the Boxing Day visit of Sheffield Wednesday.

The Trotters will be looking to bounce back from defeat at Peterborough last weekend; just the side’s second under the tutelage of Dougie Freedman.

Wednesday have been buoyed by recent back-to-back wins against Charlton and Barnsley respectively. As a result Dave Jones’ side have hauled themselves out of the drop zone.

One To Watch - Michail Antonio

Having helped the Owls secures promotion to England’s second tier during a brief loan spell last season, pacey winger Michail Antonio signed permanently for the club in the summer.

The 22-year-old Londoner has proved an instant hit with the Hillsborough fans this term, netting five goals and setting up countless others from a wide starting berth.

His sheer pace and power means whoever fills the void left by the departed Stephen Warnock could come under close examination from the South Yorkshire outfit.

Team News

Mark Davies (shoulder), Matt Mills (thigh), David Wheater and Josh Vela (all knee) will definitely miss out.

Marvin Sordell and Benik Afobe could be given the nod upfront, with Kevin Davies suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season at Peterborough. David Ngog (leg) remains a doubt.

Stuart Holden continues to step up his recovery from a knee injury, but again, the game is set to come too soon for the American international.

Stephen Warnock’s loan spell at the club has come to an end and the left-back has now returned to parent club Aston Villa.
