Bolton Wanderers can announce that Curtis Fleming has joined the club in the role of first team coach.

The 44-year-old is reunited with manager Dougie Freedman and his assistant Lennie Lawrence, who he had worked with as part of the Crystal Palace backroom staff since July 2011.

Fleming previously worked as youth coach at Middlesbrough and assistant manager at Livingston.

The former full-back retired from professional football in 2005 after enjoying a lengthy playing career.

He represented Birmingham City, Crystal Palace and Darlington, although he is best remembered for a ten-year spell at Middlesbrough where he made over 300 appearances.

Fleming is also a former Republic of Ireland international having earned ten senior caps between 1996 and 1998.
