Mills On A Fox Hunt

Matt Mills speaks about facing his former club on Tuesday evening

Matt Mills says that tonight will be just like any other match, despite the fact that he is in line to face the club that cast him into darkness last season.

The central defender moved to Leicester from Reading in the summer of 2011 and was an ever-present during the first half of last season.

However, he found himself out the picture from February onwards, before moving to the Reebok Stadium in the summer and getting his career back on track.

Mills starred alongside Zat Knight in the heart of Wanderers defence on Saturday evening in what was his 11th appearance of the campaign.

He said: “I got pushed into the dark at Leicester and had to work on my own, but I felt it wasn’t really through any fault of my own that I wasn’t playing.

“I had to get a personal trainer and worked hard through the summer to get an opportunity here. I hope people see I give 100 percent every time I play.

“My time at Leicester was frustrating. I only played about 30 games and my record was good. But the manager wanted to do something differently.

“I had the opportunity to come here and now we face each other. That’s the way football goes.”
