Ready To Fire

David Ngog eager for action as he continues to gain match sharpness following a spell on the sidelines

David Ngog is hoping he can build on a positive return from a recent back injury and make a pivotal contribution as the side aims for back-to-back wins on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

The French striker suffered the injury at the beginning of pre-season and didn’t make his first competitive appearance of the campaign until the beginning of September in Bolton’s 2-1 home victory over Watford.

The 23-year-old has started the Trotters’ last three games, and believe he is progressing well.

“After a long injury it takes a lot of time to get back into the right fitness,” Ngog said. “But I think I am starting to get back to full match fitness and I am ready for Saturday.

“Training has been really good and I have been working really hard.  We are all extremely motivated and really up for this game at the Reebok.

“I think every game is now important, we have come from a good away win at Sheffield Wednesday so it is important that we build on this at home, but we have to be prepared.

“It is not going to be easy, Crystal Palace are a very good side with a number of very good players, but we are ready for the week ahead.

“Hopefully I can get a goal and that will help me kick on. But first it is important that the team wins and continues to move up the table.

“It has been a difficult start for us, but we have performed well over the last few weeks with two wins, and it could have been three, and I think we are all motivated to get a win again.

“It is important that we perform in front of our own crowd who have shown us some great support this year and hopefully we can repay them with three points on Saturday.”
