Manager - More to come from Moritz

Dougie Freedman says Bolton fans have only had a glimpse of the Brazilian's qualities

Following his goal-assisting cameo appearance from the bench at Tranmere, Dougie Freedman says there is more to come from Brazilian playmaker Andre Moritz.

Moritz was reunited with Freedman this summer, after the manager had previously brought him to England as Crystal Palace manager in the summer of 2012.

And Bolton’s new number 14 lay on the equalising goal for Jermaine Beckford in Tuesday’s cup tie at Prenton Park, with the manager saying the Bolton fans have only seen a glimpse of what is to come.

“There’s certainly a lot more to come from Andre when he gets fit,” Freedman said. “At this moment he’s possibly finding it hard to gain fitness because of the games programme.

“When he’s fit he is a top quality player, which is why I was so keen to bring him here on a free transfer. It was a no brainer for me.

“We had to shuffle things around in order to make the deal happen, and that’s where we are right now.

“Andre came on at Tranmere and did very well. He provided a real bit of quality in the final third, sliding a pass into Jermaine for the goal. That’s the kind of quality he has in those areas.”
