Midfielders speaks exclusively to the official club website ahead of the visit of his former side Huddersfield.
Despite being set to come up against a number of familiar faces when Wanderers meet Huddersfield Town on Tuesday evening, Neil Danns is determined that he will be the one left smiling at the final whistle.
Having spent the latter stages of last season on loan with the Terriers alongside Jermaine Beckford, the Bolton loanee confessed that although he will enjoy meeting up with his former teammates, his main priority will always remain helping the Whites to secure maximum points.
"It’s always nice to play against a former club – it will be exciting and obviously it’d be good to see a few people there," he said.
"At the end of the day though, once we cross that white line all that goes out the window and it’s just about getting the three points."
With James Vaughan flying high for Huddersfield at present with 12 goals in all competitions so far this season, Danns admitted that Wanderers will have to be on their guard to keep the in-form striker at bay.
"I know James very well – I played with him at Crystal Palace as well as Huddersfield," he explained.
"He doesn’t live too far away from me and I class him as a good friend - it’s always good when you get to play against some of your friends.
"Obviously I’m aware of the danger and the threat that he poses. He’s started this season off on fire - he’s up there with the top goalscorers and that’s why he’s one that we will definitely have to keep our eye on."
Given the quick turnaround in games following on from Saturday’s defeat to Middlesbrough, the midfielder explained that the flurry of fixtures has been something of a blessing in disguise as the Whites look to get back to winning ways at the first time of asking.
"One of the good things about this league is that we have an opportunity to bounce back really quickly after Saturday, and that’s what we’re aiming to do against Huddersfield."
He added: "Prior to Middlesbrough, we’d gone eight unbeaten in a league that’s so unpredictable which is a good testament to the boys.
"With any luck, we can pick up three points on Tuesday night and then we can push on over the rest of the festive period."
