"It is good to go to a club with a manager who has confidence in you," says Wanderers' latest signing
Craig Davies was delighted to make his big move to Wanderers earlier this week, and insists it was an easy decision to make after meeting manager Dougie Freedman.
The Welsh international, who has scored eight goals so far this season, put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal from Barnsley on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old has completed his first week at Euxton and the striker is now eagerly awaiting his opportunity to continue his good scoring form with the Trotters.
“This is the move that I wanted,” Davies said. “When I was told about the move I was certainly happy about it. It is a big club and I certainly didn’t need much convincing.
“I had a few offers from a few other clubs, but I opted to come here. When I met the manager and spoke to him he seemed really keen. It is good to come to a club with a manager who has confidence in you and already knows a lot about you.
“It didn’t take much thinking to decide where to go. Now I just hope to push on and keep improving.
“I think the last couple of years have shown that I am desperate to do well. Now I will just try and continue to do what I have been doing and try and improve, and hopefully I can do that here and help the club move forward.
“When I visited the Reebok earlier this season with Barnsley it was my first game back and it was extra special to score at this ground, and now I hope to do this a lot more this season.
“Everyone seems really nice and everyone has been really welcoming. Bolton have a great set of lads and I don’t think that I will have any problems settling in here.
“I know Sam Ricketts from my times with the Wales national squad, Mark Davies and David Wheater from my time at Wolves, so it has been good to see a few familiar faces.”
