Match preview - Shrewsbury Town (A)

We look ahead to the first team's pre-season friendly at Shrewsbury Town

Bolton Wanderers will make their first of two visits to Shrewsbury Town this weekend.

The Whites will be looking to build on from their first pre-season outing at Rotherham United against another League One outfit, with Graham Turner’s Shrews this time being the opposition.

With the two sides meeting next month in the first round of the Capital One Cup, Saturday’s game will prove to be a dress rehearsal and will provide another opportunity for the Bolton squad to get more game time under their belts.

Shrewsbury Town
Preparing for their second season in League One, Graham Turner will be hoping Shrewsbury Town can improve on last year’s 16th place finish.

An experienced manager in the lower leagues, Turner has already started building his squad for the 2013/14 campaign, with his latest signing Akwasi Asante from Birmingham City

Town began their pre-season schedule last weekend with a glamour contest against Turkish champions Galatasaray, with Didier Drogba and co running out 3-0 winners.

The referee
The referee for this Saturday’s 3pm kick-off at Shrewsbury Town will be Mr Phil Gibbs from the West Midlands.

Gibbs, an experienced match official, refereed 39 games last season including Bolton’s New Year’s Day trip to Leeds United.
