Manager's Brighton preview

Manager Dougie Freedman looks ahead to the visit of Brighton to the Reebok this weekend.

Wanderers are currently unbeaten in their last seven outings and have yet to taste defeat at home in the Championship in 2013.

Welcoming Gus Poyet’s Albion to the Reebok Stadium for the first time, Freedman believes his side have the right ingredients for a winning recipe.

“I know Brighton inside out and so do the player,” said the Bolton boss. “What we are doing now because of where we are in the season is working more in the visual room.

“The analysis guys are working overtime and it is credit to them how hard they are working. “We did a lot of work on Friday morning on what Brighton like to do, where they score their goals from and their weaknesses.

“The players will understand exactly Brighton’s strengths and weaknesses on Saturday. We have got players in the team who are fresh and can hurt Brighton and with our state of mind right now we can approach the game feeling confident we can opposes ourselves on Brighton.

“I have done my homework but it is more about how we play. The supporters want to see commitment and I want to install tactical knowledge into that and hopefully they will be the ingredients to win the game.”

On an injury front, the manager continued by explaining Hungarian international Adam Bogdan looks set to sit out the next two or three weeks with a groin injury and Freedman also gave an update on the loan market which closes at the end of this month.

“Adam has a small tear in his groin. We have to be really careful with his injury even though it is only a two or three week injury  because if you don’t get it right then the tear in the groin can get bigger and then you are talking about six or eight weeks.

“I have identified four loans which are good value for money and will give the team a good push towards the end of the season.

“These loans are not available at the moment but they are the correct loans for us in terms of money, their hunger and their qualities.

“If they do not become available then it is very unlikely I will dip into the loan market. I am waiting for the right one to come available.”
