Ref watch: Coote in charge on Saturday

Nottinghamshire based official to referee this weekend’s early kick-off at Birmingham City

Enjoying his seventh season as a match official, David Coote has worked his way up the Football League pyramid after starting out refereeing both non-league and League Two matches in the 2007.

Despite now being an established referee in the Championship, Coote has yet to officiate a Bolton Wanderers fixture.

So far this season, Coote has taken charge of eight games, brandishing 23 yellows and one red card. The dismissal came on Tuesday night, the last match he refereed when he gave Bournemouth goalkeeper Ryan Allsop his marching orders in the Cherries 2-1 defeat at Leeds United.

Richard Kendall and Adam Matthews will run the line at St Andrew's, whilst Mark Heywood will be the fourth official.
