Winger gives his assessment of Tuesday's draw with the Rams
Chris Eagles admitted his frustration that Wanderers were forced to settle for a point against Derby County, but believes that the performance put in by the team is proof that the tide will turn sooner rather than later.
The winger scored his first goal of the season shortly before the break to bring Bolton level in a hotly-contested clash where despite a spirited display, it was ultimately not enough for the Whites as the game ended in a draw.
Speaking after the final whistle however, Eagles stressed that he and his team mates are able to take a number of positives from the game ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brighton.
“We need to learn to just bury teams,” he explained. “We went 1-0 up and we should have gone on to get two and three.
“Instead though they’ve got two goals and well done to them, but really we need to learn from our mistakes and lock down and if we do, we can kick on.
“We’ve always shown a threat going forward, but we looked more of a team, more of a unit and it was nice football to watch."
He added: “It’s a shame really because you can see how much it meant to us when we scored, but with their two goals we went to sleep again on the defensive side.
“Credit to the lads though, we bounced back and I think overall it was a good performance but lacking a result.”
