Internationals: Wednesday's round-up

Jermaine Beckford in action for Jamaica

Jermaine Beckford and Jamaica’s hopes of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup were all but ended following Wednesday morning’s 1-1 draw with Costa Rica.

Beckford played the entire second half of the game in Kingston, which automatically sealed Costa Rica’s spot in next summer’s World Cup.

As a result Jamaica now sit bottom of the six-team CONCACAF qualification group, with only fourth placed, which would mean a play-off qualifier against New Zealand, a possibility.

Jamaica would need to win both of their remaining qualifiers away at the United States (11 October) and at home against Honduras (15 October) and for other results to go their way to stand any chance of making next summer’s tournament.

Beckford, Chung-Yong Lee, Adam Bogdan and Medo Kamara will now link back up with the rest of the Bolton squad ahead of this weekend's game against Leeds United.
