Report: Bolton 1-1 Yeovil
Alex Baptiste’s late header secured Wanderers a point in a 1-1 draw against Yeovil Town at the Reebok Stadium.
The Glovers had taken the lead with ten minutes to go through Ed Upson from long range, but the defender snatched his third goal of the season on the stroke of full time to ensure that the game ended all square.
Manager Dougie Freedman made a handful of changes to the side which faced Brighton last weekend, with Rob Hall and Medo Kamara returning to the starting line-up for the Whites.
Recent loan acquisitions Liam Feeney and Neil Danns were also included in the matchday squad, but defender Kevin McNaughton wasn’t able to feature having not received international clearance.
Wanderers started brightly, but it wasn’t to be until the seventh minute of the game that the first notable chance would appear, with Hall’s dangerous ball across the face of goal deserving more after good work from Chris Eagles.
Given the Whites’ dominance, a goal looked to be imminent and it appeared to have gone Wanderers’ way in the 14th minute as Medo Kamara’s scuffed shot trickled past Hennessey, but the midfielder was to be denied as the ball struck the post.
Yeovil were struggling to contain both Hall and Eagles who were running amok in the final third, while Chung-Yong Lee’s mazy run from his own half was halted in its tracks with the winger seeming likely to break the deadlock.
Having been penned into their own half for most of the match, the visitors enjoyed their best chance of the game as Paddy Madden unleashed a half volley from close range two minutes before the break, but Bogdan was equal to it.
Chung-Yong was handed a glorious opportunity to break the deadlock on the stroke of half time as he found himself unmarked just inside the area, but the South Korean was denied by the Yeovil keeper to ensure the half ended goalless.
As the second half got underway, it was clear to see that Wanderers were a team on a mission, with Ngog’s curled shot just past the post sending out early warning signs to the Glovers.
Joel Grant almost stunned the Reebok moments later however as he was found unmarked in the area, but the Bolton goalkeeper produced a smart save to keep him out.
