Three of Bolton’s four players currently out on loan were in action for their respective clubs throughout the course of the weekend.
Marvin Sordell started his second consecutive game for struggling Charlton Athletic, who were beaten 2-0 on their own patch by Birmingham City.
The striker played 73 minutes before being replaced by Simon Church.
In League One Craig Davies started his second game for Preston North End, who were 2-1 winners at Tranmere Rovers.
Davies played 82 minutes before being subbed off, with Simon Grayson’s men comfortably sitting in the play-off places.
In the same division Tom Eaves also played 71 minutes for Shrewsbury, who were beaten 2-0 away at Sheffield United.
Keith Andrews missed Brighton & Hove Albion’s 1-0 home victory over Doncaster with a hamstring injury.
