Defender speaks following Tuesday evening's clash with Queens Park Rangers
Following the team’s narrow defeat at the hands of QPR on Tuesday evening, Alex Baptiste admitted that on another night Wanderers could have easily left Loftus Road with a share of the spoils.
On an evening which saw the Whites match their opponents for large periods of the game and hit the woodwork early on through Craig Davies, goals either side of half time helped the R's record their 11th home league victory of the campaign.
“We had a few chances and on a different night, maybe we could have got something out of the game but it wasn’t meant to be,” he said following the final whistle in West London.
“It was an unbelievable strike from Craig in the first half - I was right behind it and he was very unlucky not to score.
“Craig’s done really well since he’s come in the team, and hopefully we, as a team, can push on.
“Overall, I thought we played well - we had a few chances and they didn’t create a lot, but they were very clinical and just did enough.
“We just didn’t get the rub of the green, so it’s a disappointing night to be honest.
“They’re a good side – I think they’ll get automatic promotion with Leicester and we pushed them all the way.
“We’ve got a massive game on Saturday and we’ll be looking to get three points there.
“Ipswich is a tough trip, like this game against QPR has been too, but hopefully we can get something from the game and kick-start our season.”
