Jutkiewicz loan complete

Striker joins from Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season

Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Lukas Jutkiewicz.

The 24-year-old striker joins on loan from Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season and will wear the number 29 shirt.

He is eligible for selection in Tuesday night’s game at QPR.

“Lukas is someone I have admired for a while,” Dougie Freedman explained. “I’ve known of him for a long time, going back to his Everton days.

“I believe that if Lukas can find the right club that can provide him with the right sort of service he can quite comfortably be one of the top strikers in this division.

“Because of his pedigree he is someone who is ready to be involved right away.”

A powerful striker, Jutkiewicz started his career in the youth academy at Southampton before eventually signing professionally with Swindon Town.

After helping fire the Robins to promotion to League One during the 2006/07 season, he made a £1million move to Premier League side Everton.

Jutkiewicz was limited to a handful of senior appearances for the Toffees, but did enjoy a flurry of loan spells with Plymouth, Huddersfield Town and SPL side Motherwell, for whom he notched an impressive 12 goals.

That form prompted Championship side Coventry City to take a punt on the striker in the summer of 2010, where after 18 successful months he completed a £1.3million move to Middlesbrough.
