Dean Moxey raring to go ahead of pre-season tour

Recent recruit believes trip to Scandinavia provides the perfect opportunity to integrate with new team-mates

Bolton Wanderers’ seventh summer signing Dean Moxey believes the club’s upcoming pre-season tour of Scandinavia is the perfect chance to immediately integrate himself with his new team-mates.

Moxey, 28, put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Bolton on Wednesday.

The move to Macron Stadium will see Moxey reunited with manager Dougie Freedman, with whom he previously played under at Crystal Palace.

And speaking exclusively to bwfc.co.uk, Moxey stressed the importance of have the deal wrapped up ahead of this month’s pre-season trip abroad.

“Now it’s all sorted, I’m really looking forward to pre-season,” he said. “I don’t know many of the players personally, but the trip to Scandinavia should be a good opportunity to get away with the lads and to get to know them a bit more.

“I do know the manager from our time at Crystal Palace – I think I was his first signing there. I really enjoyed working under the manager, Lennie and Curtis at Palace.

“There were a few other clubs interested in me, but I just felt like Bolton was the right move for me.

“Fingers crossed I can keep myself fit and get a really good pre-season under my belt.

“It’s really good to have the deal done at this stage. It gives me chance to get to know the lads and the way they like to play.

“I’ve played against Bolton a couple of times, and I’m now really happy to have got the deal done.

“We were also looking at the possibility of me coming up here last January, but Palace didn’t want to let me go out.

“But now, it’s great to finally get the move sorted and to sign on the dotted line.

“I’m excited and can’t wait to start.”
