Free admission to Vitesse friendly for fun run competitors

Free entry to Wanderers' final pre-season game for those involved in the Community Trust's fun run

Supporters who enter the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust’s upcoming fun run will receive a free ticket to the first team’s friendly against Vitesse on the same day.

Due to be held as part of the club’s Family Fun Day at Macron Stadium on Sunday 3 August, the one mile run is aimed at bringing all sections of the community together to celebrate all that is good about Bolton.

The race will be started at 11am by first team manager Dougie Freedman in conjunction with the official launch of Macron Stadium, with all runners encouraged to raise funds for their own chosen charities through individual sponsorship.

A small entry fee will be charged and donated to Bolton Wanderers Community Trust, the charity arm of the Club, raising money for one of the Trust’s partners, Bolton Bullets - a local wheelchair football team.

Phil Mason, Head of the Trust and Club Chaplain said, “It is a great opportunity for all members of the Bolton Family to get involved in.

“Part of the course will include running pitchside at Macron Stadium, but we have kept the run short so that everyone can join in, have fun, raise some money for local charities and groups and celebrate One Bolton.”

One Bolton is a community cohesion initiative that aims to bring Bolton together to celebrate its diverse community and embrace equality through partners that are working together for the good of the local area.

Bishop Chris Edmondson, Bishop of Bolton echoed Phil’s sentiments by adding: "As one of the original signatories of the One Bolton Pledge, I am delighted further progress is being made through Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

“As Chair of the Faith Leaders Forum, we are pleased to continue to support this initiative and we want to continue to celebrate the diversity of Bolton."
