Birmingham reaction: Wheater on camera

Defender offers his thoughts following Wanderers' final day draw with Birmingham City

David Wheater admitted his disappointment at Wanderers' final day draw with Lee Clark's Birmingham City but is confident that the result is one the team can learn from ahead of next season.

With the Whites having opened up a two goal advantage at the Reebok Stadium courtesy of strikes from Chung-Yong Lee and Lukas Jutkiewicz, the visitors proceeded to snatch a point in added time at the end of the game to preserve their status in the Championship.

A bitter pill to swallow given Wanderers' fine form of late, the centre-half explained that the clash was simply a learning curve for all involved.

"It was a tough game - they were fighting for their place in the league and they pushed us all the way to the end and got the result that they wanted," he said.

"Aside from that though, I felt like we defended well throughout as a team but we needed to finish off a few more of our chances.

"We work hard in training everyday, so I feel that once it all comes together we'll do well next season."
