An overview of the club's involvement within the community during September 2013
The month of September began with Wanderers’ summer signing Andre Moritz attending the BWSA’s social evening alongside the club’s Sports Rehabilitator, David Dean.
Having joined the Whites from Crystal Palace on a one-year deal just two days before the start of the Championship season, the Brazilian midfielder was on hand to introduce himself to the Bolton faithful and took questions from the floor regarding his career to date.
Lifelong Wanderers fan David too shared his thoughts with those present and offered an overview of his job role alongside a detailed explanation of the Bolton backroom.
The start of the month also saw the club supporting Macmillan Cancer Support with the charity erecting an information stand in the FanZone facility prior to Wanderers’ league clash with Leeds United on September 14, with the organisation also featuring in the match day programme.
The Whites’ relationship with Macmillan was still evident a fortnight later as the club’s staff raised over £700 with a Time for Tea Bake-Off Challenge and also a Three Peaks walk.
Elsewhere in the community, the Community Trust’s disability football team carried on their fine form by starting their Ability Counts League season with three victories on the first night of the campaign at the Salford City Reds Stadium.
A league which features 7-aside teams from Manchester United, Manchester City, Wigan Athletic, Avro FC and Oakwood FC, takes place every Wednesday.
