Loan watch: Play-off spot for Keith Andrews and Brighton

Final day drama for Keith Andrews and Josh Vela at their respective loan clubs

Of the Bolton Wanderers players out on loan, Keith Andrews was the one in the thick of the final day Football League drama.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Andrews, away at Nottingham Forest, needed to better Reading’s result in order to claim the final Championship play-off place.

And Andrews played the full 90 minutes at the City Ground, as a late goal secured a dramatic 2-1 victory for the Seagulls and a play-off spot following Reading’s 2-2 draw with Burnley.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Marvin Sordell played 87 minutes for Charlton in their 3-0 win away at Blackpool.

In League One Josh Vela helped Notts County to safety, playing 90 minutes in their 1-1 draw at Oldham. As a result Shaun Derry’s side avoided the relegation zone after a recent impressive run of form.

Tom Eaves played the final five minutes of Shrewsbury’s 1-1 draw at Gillingham whilst Craig Davies was an unused substitute for play-off bound Preston North End, who were defeated 2-1 at Crewe.
