Season in photos: Jay Spearing

A photographic recap of Jay Spearing's 2013/14 season

After initially impressing whilst on loan at the club during the 2012/13 campaign, Wanderers moved to bring Jay Spearing to BL6 on a permanent basis last summer with the midfielder going on to feature in all but one of the Whites’ league outings.

Alongside his exploits for Bolton, Spearing secured the prestigious North West Football Awards Championship Player of the Year accolade back in November 2013 for his efforts during the calendar year.

Amassing over 4,100 minutes of playing time, the combative Liverpudlian was also handed the captain’s armband for much of the season and even notched strikes against Queens Park Rangers and more notably Blackburn Rovers – a goal which was nominated in the club’s goal of the season poll.

A man who endeared himself to the Bolton faithful during his initial loan spell with Wanderers, the 25-year-old’s dogged determination and no nonsense approach to the game ensured that he cemented his place in the Bolton starting eleven during the 2013/14 campaign.
