1. Liam Trotter was born in Ipswich on August 24, 1988.

2. Despite plying his trade as a midfielder throughout his professional career, Trotter initially featured as a striker during his teenage years.

3. Having played football locally as a youngster, he was scouted by Ipswich Town as a 16-year-old and joined their academy.

4. He scored his first senior goal on his home debut for the Portman Road outfit in a 2-1 victory over Colchester United in October 2007.

5. Trotter was also a member of the Tractor Boys’ FA Youth Cup winning team of 2005 who secured the trophy with victory over Southampton.

6. The 25-year-old has previously played with former Wanderers midfielder Ivan Campo during the Spaniard’s brief stint with Ipswich.

7. Alongside his four years with Ipswich Town and Millwall respectively, Trotter has also enjoyed loan spells with Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United.

8. He joined Wanderers initially on loan on deadline day in January 2014 and made 16 appearances during his spell with the club including ten starts.

9. Trotter has previously shared a flat with former Wanderers loanee Liam Feeney.

10. He also won the club’s goal of the month award for April with his 35 yard volley against Sheffield Wednesday.
