Jay Spearing - Everyone must rally together

Club captain says potential new manager has a dressing room that is determined to improve

Jay Spearing has called for everyone involved with Bolton Wanderers to rally together and help turn the club’s season around.

The captain pointed to a determined and eager dressing room following the weekend’s defeat against Bournemouth at Macron Stadium, saying he and his team-mates are desperate to climb off the foot of the Sky Bet Championship table.

“After the game against Bournemouth we, as a group of players, felt like we wanted another game straight away,” Spearing told bwfc.co.uk.

“In another sense though, it’ll allow for some change in the club.

“We look forward to whatever happens and whoever comes in has a very determined group of players. Every single one of us wants to get out of the situation that we’re in right now.

“There’s no doubting that this is a very important time for everyone involved with the club.

“We all want the same thing – to see our football club doing well both on and off the pitch.

“We’re all in it together. The support from the fans during the game against Bournemouth was fantastic and there was a real sense of unity. That’s exactly what we need right now.

“Of course, we were all gutted to lose the game, but we’ll get back on the training field and work out where we’re going wrong and where we can improve – that’s something that we’ll be doing over the international break.”
