NAMES
Francesco Pisano was born in Cagliari, Italy, on April 29 1986.

POSITION
Primarily a right-back, he is capable of playing anywhere down the right-flank.

BREAKTHROUGH
Having spent his whole career to date with his boyhood club Cagliari in Serie A, the defender made his debut against Leece at the age of 18 in September 2004. Notable team-mates at the time included Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola and ex-Manchester City forward Rolando Bianchi.

INTERNATIONAL SCENE
A former Italy Under-21s international, he was a member of the squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2009 Under-21s European Championships alongside Mario Balotelli.


LEADER
Pisano became the youngest player to ever captain Cagliari when he was handed the armband at the age of 22 for a game against Napoli in April 2009.

GOALSCORER
Despite making nearly 250 appearances for Cagliari, the defender only ever scored one goal – against Roma in a 4-2 victory at the Olympic Stadium in February 2013.
