Lawrie Wilson signs permanent deal with Wanderers

Defender agrees terms with the club following successful trial period

Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm the signing of Lawrie Wilson.

The versatile defender joins the club on a two-year contract following a successful trial, having trained with Neil Lennon’s first team since their return from Austria last month.

Featuring in all five of the Whites’ pre-season fixtures on English soil, the 27-year old made his first appearance as a substitute against Morecambe before starting against Oldham Athletic, Scunthorpe United, Port Vale and his former club Charlton Athletic.

Having finished last season on loan at Rotherham United from Charlton Athletic, he was previously on the books at Colchester United and Stevenage, securing back-to-back promotions from the Conference to League One with the latter in 2010 and 2011.

Wilson has been allocated the number 25 jersey for the upcoming 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship season and goes straight into contention for Saturday’s season opener against Derby County.
