Loan watch: Oscar Threlkeld sets up goal in Plymouth win

Midfielder grabs assist as Plymouth maintain their lead at the top of Sky Bet League Two

Oscar Threlkeld set up a goal as Plymouth Argyle came from behind to beat Newport County 2-1 on Monday.

The Sky Bet League Two league leaders had fallen behind midway through the first half through Scott Boden's lobbed effort.

However, Threlkeld set up Jake Jervis to equalise shortly after the restart, before Ryan Brunt secured all three points for the Pilgrims with 20 minutes left on the clock.

In the Sky Bet Championship, Liam Trotter completed 90 minutes as Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 away with Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

The Tricky Trees took an early lead through Chris Burke, only to be pegged back moments later courtesy of Aron Gunnarsson's deflected strike as they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

Elsewhere in the division, Rob Hall was an unused substitute as MK Dons lost 1-0 away at Birmingham City.

Meanwhile in Sky Bet League One, Hayden White completed 90 minutes as Blackpool lost 4-2 away at Barnsley.

Sam Winnall's brace for the hosts early in each half sandwiched Mark Cullen's strike for the Tangerines, before Marley Watkins slotted home Barnsley's first.

Andy Little gave Blackpool hope as he halved the deficit in the 90th minute, only for Matthew Templeton to go up the other end and seal the points in stoppage-time.

Ross Fitzsimons was also in action for Bishop's Stortford as they conceded a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 away at Concord Rangers.
