Wanderers' head of sports performance visits local Canon Slade youngsters

Bolton Wanderers head of sports performance, Mark Leather, delivered a lesson at Canon Slade Sixth Form College last week.

Putting his master’s degree in Sports Physiology and teaching qualification to good use, Mark shared his experiences in a BTEC Sport lesson, giving the pupils an insight into injury in sport and how to deal with it.

Mark has over 25 years of experience working in professional football, including 10 years working in the Premier League as Head of Sports Medicine for both Liverpool and Sunderland.

“I was impressed with how engaged the students were,” Mark said after his visit. “It was an enjoyable day out.”
