Jermaine Beckford agrees Preston switch

Forward to join Lilywhites permanently following expiry of Wanderers contract

Jermaine Beckford will join Preston North End when his contract at Bolton Wanderers expires on June 30.

The forward first joined Wanderers from Leicester City in July 2013, and made 51 appearances, scoring 11 goals, during his time at Macron Stadium.

After initially joining Preston on loan last November, Beckford scored 18 goals in 31 appearances for the Lilywhites as they won promotion to the Championship via the League One play-offs, including a hat-trick in the final against Swindon Town at Wembley.

Bolton previously announced that the 31-year-old's contract at BL6 would not be renewed when revealing their retained list last month, and he will now line up for Simon Grayson's side next season.
