International watch: Who is playing where?

Eight Whites set to feature for respective nations during March international break

As Neil Lennon’s side take a break from Championship action this weekend, eight members of his squad will be hoping to feature for their respective nations after being called up on international duty.

Barry Bannan – Scotland

On loan at Macron Stadium from Crystal Palace, Bannan looks set to add to his tally of 19 international caps with Scotland twice taking to the field at Hampden Park.

First facing Northern Ireland in a friendly on Wednesday 25 March (7.45pm), Gordan Strachan’s side then take on Gilbraltar in their latest Euro 2016 qualifier on Sunday 29 March (5pm), with both games televised live on Sky Sports.

Adam Bogdan – Hungary

Having recently made his return from injury, Bogdan has been named in the Hungary squad for their upcoming Euro 2016 qualifier against Greece in Budapest on Sunday 29 March (7.45pm) – a game which will be televised live on Sky Sports.

Neil Danns – Guyana 

Included in the Guyana squad for the first time, Danns will be hoping to make his international debut when Guyana host Grenada in an international friendly on Sunday 29 March.

Eidur Gudjohnsen – Iceland

Recalled to the Iceland squad for the first time since their 2014 World Cup play-off defeat against Croatia in November 2013, Gudjohnsen will be keen to make an immediate impact upon his return to the national set-up. 

His nation’s record goalscorer with 24 goals, the veteran forward will be hopeful of adding to his tally of 78 caps as Iceland travel to Kazakhstan for their latest Euro 2016 qualifier on Saturday 28 March (3pm), before taking on Estonia in a friendly on Tuesday 31 March (6pm).

Georg Iliev – Bulgaria Under-21s

Iliev has been included in the Bulgaria squad for their opening UEFA U21 Championship qualifier against Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday 31 March (7pm).

Tim Ream – USA

Named in Jurgen Klinsmann’s squad for USA’s two European-based international friendlies, Ream will be keen to add to his tally of 12 caps as he looks to impress the former German international and cement his place in the Stars and Stripes' squad. 

They first face Denmark in Aarhus on Wednesday 25 March (7.15pm) before taking on Switzerland in Zurich on Tuesday 31 March (5pm).

Simeon Slavchev – Bulgaria

The Sporting Lisbon loanee will be hoping to win his fourth international cap when Bulgaria host Italy in Sofia in their latest Euro 2016 qualifier on Saturday 28 March (7.45pm) – a game which will be televised live on Sky Sports.

Conor Wilkinson – Republic of Ireland Under-21s

Currently on-loan at Oldham Athletic, Wilkinson has been named in Noel King’s squad for their opening UEFA U21 Championship qualifier against Andorra at the RSC, Waterford, on Thursday 26 March (7.45pm).
