Confirmation of the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust's backing of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant
Bolton Wanderers Community Trust recently signed up to the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant to show the commitment of the Trust and Bolton Wanderers Football Club to the armed forces.
The covenant reads: “We, the undersigned, commit to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community.
“We recognise the value serving personnel, both regular and reservists, veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country.”
Phil Mason, Head of Community Trust said, “It was an easy decision to make to sign up to this commitment.
“At the club, we are passionate about supporting our armed forces and recognise the importance of them and the value of them to our wider community.”
Businesses that sign up to the covenant are asked to demonstrate their commitment by recognising the value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring.
In completing the covenant commitment, the Trust highlighted the work in supporting armed forces charities through the season with Blesma, The Limbless Veterans and the annual Royal British Legion Appeal.
They also highlighted the ‘Wanderers at War’ project which is currently working with primary schools to highlight the sacrifices the armed forces make and also the skills and qualities required to be a member of the armed forces.
In making such a covenant commitment, Bolton Wanderers Community Trust are looking to develop their relationship to the armed forces going forward.
