Loan watch: Mixed fortunes for quartet

Liam Trotter, Hayden White, Conor Wilkinson and Oscar Threlkeld all feature for respective loan sides

It was a mixed weekend for Bolton Wanderers' loanees during the latest round of Football League fixtures as four on-loan Whites were in action for their respective temporary sides.

In the Sky Bet Championship, Liam Trotter completed the full 90 minutes as Nottingham Forest lost 1-0 away at Sheffield Wednesday - Fernando Forestieri scoring the only goal.

Meanwhile in League One, Hayden White also completed 90 minutes as Blackpool were on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller against local rivals Bury.

The Shakers stormed into a 2-0 lead inside the opening ten minutes thanks to a Danny Rose brace, only for Mark Cullen to take advantage of a goalkeeping error to halve the deficit moments later.

Chris Hussey and Tom Soares extended Bury's lead further either side of the half-hour mark, and despite Blackpool scoring late on in each half through Clark Robertson and Jack Redshaw, they were unable to find a late equaliser.

Elsewhere in the division, Conor Wilkinson came on as a 74th minute substitute in place of Michael Smith as Barnsley lost 2-0 away at Scunthorpe United - first half goals from Tom Hopper and Gary McSheffrey sealing the points.

Finally, in League Two Oscar Threlkeld came on as an 81st minute substitute for Plymouth Argyle in place of Craig Tanner, as early Graham Carey and Tanner goals saw the Pilgrims win 2-0 at home to Morecambe to extend their lead at the top of the table.
