U18s: Crewe Alexandra 2-2 Bolton

Max Allen and Tom Grivosti on scoresheet in stalemate

Bolton Wanderers Under-18s came from behind to draw away at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

Having fallen behind early on, the young Whites responded well and were unfortunate not to equalise as Alex Samizadeh shot narrowly wide from distance.

However, Bolton did not have to wait long to level the scores as Enock Likoy-Elumba was brought down by the Railwaymen's goalkeeper having been played in by Jack Earing - allowing Max Allen to step up to net with a well-taken penalty.

Receiving possession inside his own half, Tom Grivosti fired the Trotters ahead shortly before the break with a superb individual goal, bursting forward through midfield before finding the top corner from 35 yards.

But Wanderers were unable to see out the second to claim victory as Crewe levelled late on following a set-piece to secure a share of the spoils.

After the game, Under-18s coach David Lee told bwfc.co.uk; "We responded well after suffering an early setback having conceded after only two minutes.

"We pressed well, creating chances and were deserving of our equaliser in the first half, while we were the better team throughout the second half.

"Overall it was a pleasing performance, with the players showing good attitude and character to get something from the game."
