U18s: Bolton 3-1 Brentford

Alex Samazideh nets sixth strike in four games in Whites' victory over Bees

Bolton Wanderers Under-18s bounced back from successive defeats to beat Brentford 3-1 at Lostock on Saturday morning.

Having already been denied once by Bees goalkeeper Cameron Greaves, Alex Samazideh fired the Whites ahead shortly after the half-hour mark as he rolled home from close-range.

The forward shot narrowly wide shortly before the break as Bolton pressed for a second, before Danny McKenna did extend the Trotters' lead after the interval, finishing well from the edge of the area.

Will Jaaskelainen was called into action as he saved well at the feet of an opponent, before Alex Honeyball netted Wanderers' third of the day after heading home Max Allen's corner.

Brentford fought back as they netted a late consolation from the penalty spot, but the Whites hung on to clinch a comfortable victory.

Pleased with his side's performance, head coach David Lee shared his delight as Bolton secured three points.

"Overall it was a good performance from the lads. We created several chances and could have won by more.

"It was pleasing to see how well they took on all the information that was given to them during the week."
