Darren Pratley sidelined

Club captain out for between eight and ten weeks following injury against Sheffield United

Darren Pratley is set to be out of action for between eight and ten weeks after fracturing a bone in his lower leg.

The club captain was stretchered from the field of play following a challenge with Sheffield United’s Leon Clarke on Saturday.

And speaking during his pre-Blackpool press conference, the manager confirmed his captain was set for a prolonged period on the sidelines.

“We’re looking at around eight to ten weeks. Darren has fractured the fibula in his leg and he’ll be away to see a specialist. We’ll make sure Darren has the best treatment possible.

“It’s a blow for both him and us, but it’s also a chance for someone else to step up.”
