BWFC Goes For Gold With O2 Middlebrook

Bolton Wanderers' Gold Partners O2 recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary at Middlebrook Retail Park and launched some fun half-time activities on the pitch during match days at Macron Stadium.

Throughout November and during December, at the half-time break, supporters were randomly selected to take part in the ‘O2 Time Shot’.

The challenge involved the contestants trying to score from different distances, ranging from the penalty spot to the centre spot, all within 30 seconds and whilst wearing a mobile phone costume.

Prizes were offered for each ‘goal’ scored and included the costume they wore, £25 in cash, a sports action camera and a tablet.

The Gold Partnership includes stadium wide digital advertising for the current 2016/2017 season and a two-year agreement for the branding of 36 stadium gates.

Anthony Coucill, O2 Operations Manager, said: “It has been great for us to be able to work with Bolton Wanderers this season.  We have been on the retail park now for the last ten years and have a great relationship with the club; however, this year’s package has been a fantastic step for us.

“The combination of the parts of the package has meant we’re able to add a fun element to our advertising with the half-time competition, and with the club being such a key part of Bolton as a community, we are able to keep our brand in the minds of local supporters with the DIGIboards and hoardings. I’m looking forward to how our partnership can continue to develop.”

BWFC’s Commercial Manager, John Ashley, added: “It’s a great opportunity to work in partnership with local retailer O2 Middlebrook. The partnership showcases the powerful brand of O2 on our digital platforms throughout the stadium whilst giving the fans an opportunity to take part in a fun half-time challenge.

“O2 have provided the fans with some great prizes for the O2 Time Shot which winners collect from the local store.

“This partnership demonstrates how we can work with local or national businesses to offer an engaging advertising opportunity.”
