Overview of key dates for EFL 2016/17 season

Confirmation of key dates ahead of the upcoming 2016/17 campaign

The Football League have confirmed a number of key dates for supporters ahead of the upcoming 2016/17 season.

With the Football League itself set to be known as the English Football League as of June 2016, the forthcoming domestic campaign will start on the weekend of August 6, 2016 and will conclude on the weekend of May 6, 2017.

The fixture list, which will be released on Wednesday 22 June 2016, will feature the traditional Boxing Day fixtures alongside New Year’s Eve and New Year’s bank holiday matches.
