Trotters fan Mark Done took part in 2015 and told Football Aid all about his experience after the game:
"From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like true professional players and it was an experience that has to be tried. To follow in the footsteps of professional footballers is something that many won’t experience, but if you’re lucky enough to do it then you’re in no better hands than that of Football Aid.
The setup was just amazing, pre match massage and the sight of walking into the changing room with your kit hanging up with your name on was absolutely spine tingling. Pre-match tactics and drills on the pitch, final words of encouragement from the gaffer waiting for the bell to ring to acknowledge the teams to walk down the tunnel and to then walk out onto the pitch was just filled with stuff from dreams. If you have the urge to fulfil a boyhood fantasy like me, there is no better place and no better charity foundation to do it with and you will leave on the day with memories to cherish forever!!"
Since forming in 2001 Football Aid have allowed over 17,000 football fans the chance to Live the Dream in 645 matches all over the UK, while raising over £2.3m for charity. The unique concept was the brainchild of businessman and Football Aid Founder Craig Paterson and funds raised from this year's event will benefit the work of a charitable project nominated by Bolton Wanderers Community Trust, as well as projects nominated by Football Aid’s parent charity Field of Dreams.
