First team duo pay special visit to local junior school to support their language learning
Wanderers stars Jamie Proctor and Sammy Ameobi made a special visit to St Catherine’s CE Primary School in Horwich recently as part of preparations for their Language Learning Celebration Day.
The pair were invited to get involved in a special assembly for the pupils where they explained the importance of speaking different languages and how specifically it can help footballers alongside benefit everybody in everyday life.
Speaking following the visit, Karen Graham, the school’s head teacher, said, “The children were so excited when they saw the players walk into assembly.
“They were really interested in what they had to say about how important learning languages are and both Sammy and Jamie were so nice and lovely with children.
“Having the players visit really was a brilliant launch for our celebration of languages.”
