U18s: Bolton 2-0 Crystal Palace

Wanderers' youngsters secure victory over their Eagles counterparts

Wanderers' Under-18s bounced back to winning ways on Saturday by defeating their Crystal Palace counterparts by two goals to nil at Lostock.

Having started the game strongly, the Whites capitalised following a superb run from Alex Samizadeh, with the Iranian's individual skill and consequent header being saved, only for Jack Everest to put the rebound into the net.

Their hard work and endeavour continued meanwhile throughout the remainder of the first half, although they were unable to add to their tally before the break.

Following the restart however, they competed well and put Palace under pressure, eventually earning themselves a penalty.

Harry Brockbank dispatched the spot-kick, but the referee demanded a retake which the Eagles' goalkeeper saved at the second attempt.

Not to be denied however, Wanderers carried on throwing men forward and doubled their advantage through Samizadeh via a header from a corner to make sure of the three points.
