Read the manager's post-match thoughts following Wanderers' draw with the Dons
Wanderers fought out a 1-1 draw at Macron Stadium for the second time in a week as they were held by AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.
Gary Madine marked his return to the side with an excellent diving header before Tom Elliot levelled for the visitors before half-time.
And despite the Whites' best efforts to grab a second-half winner, they could not make the breakthrough, with manager Phil Parkinson covering the following points when speaking after the game...
On his side’s performance…
I thought we started very well. We got the goal early on and had a great chance with David Wheater’s header.
Before half-time I thought we stopped doing what we had been doing so well and that gave them the lift they needed.
In the second period I thought we raised our game, I was pleased with the way we played and we had opportunities but didn’t take them.
I thought we gave everything today, I thought we put an honest shift in and that will put us in good stead for next weekend.
On two consecutive home draws…
There’s disappointment in the camp. I’ve said all season that every game is going to be difficult and there’s fine lines between winning games and not winning in this division.
They’ve had very few opportunities and we should have taken all three points but we haven’t.
I thought it was a much better performance than the one on Tuesday and there was a lot more cohesion in the team, we now have to take the positives from the game and move on to Fleetwood next week.
On Gary Madine’s goalscoring return…
Gaz has gone in very bravely to get on the end of Filipe’s corner and it’s a fantastic header.
He’s had to lift himself after the week he’s had and I thought him and Alfie linked up very well today, there were good signs ahead for that combination based on today’s performance.
On the performances of Filipe Morais…
I’ve been very pleased with Fil, his energy levels have been great since he’s been here.
Again he’s shown what he can do because he played well wide and did well in the middle.
He’s come very close from an excellent free-kick as well so we’re pleased with his contribution since joining.
And finally, on next Saturday's trip to Fleetwood Town…
It’s a big game and I’m looking forward to it. They’ve got a good win today, but we need to look at ourselves and today’s performance and then go up another level next week.
Today was better, but we need to improve against Fleetwood to get a positive result.
