Preview: Five talking points ahead of Guiseley v Bolton Wanderers

Wanderers continue their preparations for the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign with a clash against Vanarama National League North side Guiseley at Nethermoor Park on Tuesday evening

Phil Parkinson's men are unbeaten so far in pre-season following a victory against FC Halifax Town and back-to-back draws with Morecambe and Girona respectively.

bwfc.co.uk highlighted five talking points ahead of tomorrow's pre-season friendly at Guiseley.

1.    Back to Yorkshire

Wanderers make a return to West Yorkshire tomorrow evening to take on Guiseley, just ten days after the journey over the border was made to travel to the MBi Shay Stadium to take on Vanarama National League side FC Halifax Town. The trip to Guiseley’s Nethermoor Park however, is 15 miles longer than the trip to the MBi Shay Stadium recently.

2.    Penultimate pre-season friendly

Tomorrow’s pre-season friendly fixture at Guiseley will be the second to last one of the summer for Wanderers. After opening pre-season with a 2-1 victory at FC Halifax Town, Phil Parkinson’s men have continued their preparations with goalless draws against Morecambe at Lostock, and Girona at Lancashire FA’s Leyland HQ. Following the Guiseley friendly, Wanderers will play their final pre-season friendly at Peterborough United on Saturday (28 July).

3.    Key details

Tomorrow’s game will kick-off at 7.45pm. Entry into the stadium will not require pre-purchasing of a ticket with payments accepted on the turnstiles. Ticket pricing is as follows: Adults: £10. Concessions (Over 60s and Students with valid ID): £5. Under-18s: £5. Under-11s: £1.

4.    Hat-trick of clean sheets?

Phil Parkinson’s side will go to Guiseley tomorrow evening in search of a third successive clean sheet after keeping shut-outs against Morecambe and Girona respectively. Despite the defensive unit being shuffled around on numerous occasions to give players much needed match-minutes, the goal has yet to be breached since the victory at FC Halifax Town.

5.    New Away shirt to make its debut

Last week, the 2018/19 away shirt was released. A sharp looking black jersey with flashed of red, once again produced by Macron, the release seemed to go down extremely well with the supporters reacting to the announcement on social media. The home shirt has been on show in pre-season, but the black away shirt will make its debut at Guiseley tomorrow evening.
